I always painted and had my sketch book in my hand as a child, I did not, however, study art in university until in my late 20’s. Fascinated with Tromp L’oil images I became fascinated with perspective and illusion. I found psychology increasingly important, even essential, as a tool to express my identity, personal beliefs, memories, and future vision. Visual imagery was the only way that I could tell my story.
After graduating I became a lecturer of Art and Design in a College of Further Education. It was an amazing 18 years; sharing ideas, techniques, concepts, and participating in in-depth debates… some of which got quite expressive!
I have now retired from teaching and intend to work full time on my own art work, of which I am very excited about.
I have exhibited and sold a number of my paintings in:
- Royal Cambrian Academy, Conwy
- Albany Gallery, Cardiff
- Washington Gallery, Penarth
- Aspects of Wales, Pontardawe Arts Centre, Swansea
- Swansea Maritime Museum, Swansea
- In 2015 I published my book ‘The Intimate Values of a House and the Spaces Within it’.https://www.blurb.co.uk/b/6120048
