‘Trust’

Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life.

Not to trust so readily. As a child I trusted my family, more specifically, my parents.

However, they were the least trustworthy people in my life. I looked up to them for guidance, love, encouragement, emotional growth.

My parents didn’t give me any of these things.

But, as a child I did trust my parents. So, the lesson for me is 🤔…

  1. Sara, your reflection is powerful. Trust is something we naturally give as children, especially to our parents. It’s heartbreaking when that trust is not honored. Your experience has undoubtedly shaped you, and it sounds like you’ve learned an important, though painful, lesson about trust. Stay strong on your journey. 🌸

    1. Yes, you are right, I now know trust should be earned. I was bitterly
      disappointed at the time. To be
      truthful, I’m probably still disappointed
      but I accept it now.

      1. No it’s not fun at all! And as much as you move on, have your own life etc. it does impact your whole life 🤔. Not having a loving role model to look up to, guide you when you’re a child is challenging. Have a lovely Sunday ❤️
