Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life.
Not to trust so readily. As a child I trusted my family, more specifically, my parents.
However, they were the least trustworthy people in my life. I looked up to them for guidance, love, encouragement, emotional growth.
My parents didn’t give me any of these things.
But, as a child I did trust my parents. So, the lesson for me is 🤔…
So sad! Good wishes!

So true, sometimes we are kind and caring people and we believe others will be the same as us 🙏

Exactly…I still find it difficult to get my head around the fact that some people can be so cruel 🤔😣🙏

Very true, unfortunately 😞 hard to have a caring and sweet spirit as well as we become hardened by that fact 🙏

We have to pat ourselves on our backs and take pride in the fact that we aren’t like them 😁🙏

Sara, your reflection is powerful. Trust is something we naturally give as children, especially to our parents. It’s heartbreaking when that trust is not honored. Your experience has undoubtedly shaped you, and it sounds like you’ve learned an important, though painful, lesson about trust. Stay strong on your journey. 🌸

The lesson is trust must be earned, not assumed, even with family.
Blind trust can lead to disappointment, so it’s crucial to be discerning and protect yourself.
Beautifully presented. Thank you.

Yes, you are right, I now know trust should be earned. I was bitterly
disappointed at the time. To be
truthful, I’m probably still disappointed
but I accept it now.
Thank you for your comments, I really
appreciate them 🥰

I agree. My mother is the least trustworthy person I know. 😮

Horrible isn’t it? I think the lack of trust in your own family intercepts other relationships in your life 🤔

Awww…that’s good ❤️. Unfortunately, my Dad was as bad as my Mother, but in a different way!

Sorry to hear that. Having bad parents is not fun. 😦 ❤

No it’s not fun at all! And as much as you move on, have your own life etc. it does impact your whole life 🤔. Not having a loving role model to look up to, guide you when you’re a child is challenging. Have a lovely Sunday ❤️
