What strategies do you use to cope with negative feelings?
Strategies I use to cope with negative feelings…
Ooh, I use different strategies – dependant on what and how severe my negative feelings are.
The majority of the time I get my paint brushes out and express my feelings on the canvas. I also write in my journal, splurge all my thoughts and negative feelings on the page.
I occasionally chat with my friends…
More recently, I have expressed my feelings through tears, floods of persistent tears – what a release!!!💧
In the warmer months I will go into my garden and potter around. At other times I go on a cleaning spree in my home, scrubbing and polishing already clean surfaces.
I do, at times sit quietly and have a little chat with myself. Put things into perspective…it’s not all that bad – surely?
I need to give myself permission to ‘FEEL’…to feel grief, to feel anger, sadness, peace, happiness and joy.
I need to stop hiding. I need to be honest with myself. I need to accept I have wounds, and to allow and give myself time to heal. I need to build self worth, forgive myself, love myself…even if it’s just a tiny bit!
Eeeek…I thought this was going to be a one line answer! I got a little carried away 🤪.
Anyways, this is not a negative post…this is a very positive one!
I’m just acknowledging, that I need to give myself a little time to grieve the loss of my dear friend. I’m going to give myself the time to cry!
This is my first step in allowing myself to ‘FEEL’.
Apologies if I’m a little distant for a few days….or however, long!
Thank you for reading, my friends! ♥️
Happy Tuesday…Taco Tuesday for some! I’m sure that wouldn’t want to be done differently! hehe…
It is a Capital City, and the old part was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982. The city lies on a bay with a protected harbour.
It is a place where you dance the salsa, drink mojitos, and smoke the odd cigar or two. The city is renowned for its literature, architecture, politics, folklore, music, and of course, the Rum!
