Sara Allwright

I studied BA (Hon’s) Painting & Drawing at Swansea Institute, part of my degree included Critical and Contextual studies. I am interested in the concepts behind the work artists produce. I also studied Psychology, which I believe goes hand in hand with creative expression.

My work is varied and covers several different concepts and ideas.

My earlier works are autobiographical in nature, representing different aspects of my childhood experiences. I used derelict houses and the inanimate objects within a home as metaphors to express my personal language and meanings.

More recent works are still based on personal expression but with an abstract interpretation. I have introduced more colour within my paintings to convey thoughts, feelings and emotions .

      1. ๐Ÿ™‚ that’s great – glad it was a success ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve just got a new laptop – I’m so not techy lol but got to get used to new system, lol my old laptop is 15 yrs old and so little space left lol and with my pics taking up most of my space and then the books in word lol it was laughable and as slow as a slug lol Weather here is lovely right now- I should be out weeding from the downpours we’ve had the last few days ๐Ÿ™‚

        The weather has been wonderful here, you canโ€™t call it rainy Wales at the moment ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Hey ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m getting there slowly lol having an uptown date word is so foreign its taking time to make sure all my books are set to correct margin etc lol I’ve been busy this past week finally working on my bathroom – painting, wallpapering and painting the cabinets ) it wrecked me lol frigging age. That and women’s monthly curse isn’t playing nice and I’ve got to go get a sonogram on Monday! So…..lol all happening here – and woohoo for Nice weather in Wales – here we’ve had terrible thunderstorms and lashing downpours! The weed are in full force lol

      4. Sounds like youโ€™ve been very busy – getting your head round your margins lol, and decorating the bathroom. I hope the Sonogram went ok and all is well.
        Iโ€™ve been working on a new painting, itโ€™s nearly finished – I think ๐Ÿคช.

      5. still figuring out the new word stuff lol Sonogram went ok – got to go back June 2nd for another :/ still losing though day frigging 16 today ( Thursday) and oooooo a new painting ๐Ÿ™‚ I look forward to seeing it. Weather is still raining lol

      6. Hi, from not so sunny Wales. I hope you are ok and stopped losing! I hope they find out whatโ€™s causing it when you go on the 2nd for another scan. Iโ€™ve finished my painting, I think lol ๐Ÿง. Howโ€™s the writing and the new laptop going?

  14. I am attracted to your painting “Internal Confusion”. It’s like watching my verses rush out as you see how the water wets your feet. The colors resemble burning brands that burn my skin. It’s like a boiling volcano, as if passion erupts because it can’t resist being imprisoned.
