Beatrix Potter

Back in the late 90’s all my friend’s kids were very much into Beatrix Potter characters.

Helen Beatrix Potter (1866-1943) was an English author, illustrator, natural scientist, and conservationist. She is best known for her children’s books featuring animals.

The Tales of Peter Rabbit and his friends.

Here are a couple of murals I painted for my friend’s children…many years ago!

      1. I like doing murals if it’s my own work, ides, concepts…
But most people want copies of things…ie, Beatrix Potter.
Working on canvas is physically easier, transportable, sellable, and I paint what I want. 😁

      2. Understood. Maybe you should try one of your own walls, to generate curiosity 🤔. I’m trying to think how to get your work out there 🤭.
Yeah, canvas is convenient no doubt.
Imagine if someone gets you to do a mural, giving you creative freedom ☺️.

      3. I haven’t looked at it for a few weeks. I’ve been concentrating on painting. I can’t do both at the same time…as in, using a different mind set! I just need to write the final chapter, and then have it proofread. 😱

      4. The final chapter is where you’re stuck or too many ideas?
That’s true, both needs commitment and concentration.
Where in Wales are you? I think we have a huge time difference.

      5. Hmmm…yes, that might me the answer! Don’t have a final chapter. That could be the start of a series! 🤗😂
I just need to have it proofread, my grammar is rubbish! 😱😱
It wont be an easy read…but I have woven humour into it! 🤞

      6. Hey, a series is good. That would be living along with you 😅. I think it does come with a good ending since you’ve come so far.
You should start looking for a proof reader too 🤔.
Injecting humor is good, if it’s going to be heavy. I think it will resonate with people otherwise too.

      7. 10 years is a lot lot of emotions pouring out. I applaud you for taking that step and finding the courage.
You are already finding your voice but yes a book is a bigger platform. Loads and loads of love and hugs 🤗🤗🤗🤗💜💜💜💜🧡🧡🧡🧡.
Praying that people will draw strength from your story.

  1. Wow Sara these are so good! I thought these were actual pictures from the books! Painting at such a big scale is inconcievable to me. Your art continues to impress, really well done! 🤩🏆

    1. Thank you, Daniel. I loved doing large scale murals. I spent a few years doing them for schools, companies etc. 36 feet long, was the largest mural I did.
I was also fascinated with trompe l’oeil, I dabbled with doing them as well.
Thank you, I really appreciate your words, it gives me a big nudge of confidence. I’m always a bit reluctant to post art stuff I’ve done, or doing.

      1. Hehehe….sorry, your comment made me giggle…Michelangelo! 🫢
I practiced my painting techniques on all the walls of my house. I had to sell it and move to another for some blank walls. 😂
        Thank you, Phil. 🤗🌻

      2. I don’t know how it is going in Wales, but the way inflation is here in NY, I think a Box of Cereal could be millions in the years to come! My rent is up over 40% in the last 5 years. Hopefully the future will be better. 🙌🙌

      3. I think it’s the same everywhere! 🤔 Rent has increased here by a similar percentage. Food and fuel is ridiculous. I suppose it’s all relative to wage and cost of living. But it’s frightening isn’t it? 😱
