What does it mean to be a kid at heart?
What does it mean to be a kid at heart ?
I’ve never been a kid, so in truth…I’ve got absolutely no idea 🤷♀️
So instead of trying to answer this prompt, I will indulge in showing you another one of my paintings.
‘ Broken Home’

Acrylic on canvas.

Unfortunately, I know what you mean about never being a kid. I am sorry that you, too, grew up like this. You have captured both what could have been by showing the green and light outside the broken windows and pieces of wood and a sense of sorrow with this old beaten down building. It certainly leaves the question of what happened here, where are the people who once lived within these walls. Vivid and lovely colors. Thank you for sharing your work with us.

Thank you Joni! I can definitely see the similarities within your poetry/words and my paintings. The old/derelict buildings serve as a great metaphor for my childhood memories. They are my language…

If only I could paint, you have worked hard and the work speaks for itself. You have indeed captured so many thoughts, memories, and feelings of how I grew up and when I think about my childhood your work hits home evoking memories that rush back into my heart. Art and poetry provoke so much emotion. Your work is amazing dear Sara.

Art and poetry indeed provoke a lot of emotions, often repressed memories.
I wish I could write, but I cannot get my feelings and thoughts out in words.
I will leave that job in your very capable hands Joni. 💞
Thank you, dear Joni.

Wow! I can almost feel the emptiness, the melancholy as the old place recalls the Glory Years. I have this thing about wandering through abandoned homes, wondering what happened to the occupants. You captured it perfectly. 😎👏

Awww….thank you so much Darryl ☺️. I too, love old, abandoned buildings. A lot of my paintings are based on ‘home/s’. I wrote and self published “The Intimate Values of House and the Spaces Within it”. Based on the very things you mention. Thank you, again for your comments 🤗💛
