This city is an active port located on the Bay of Biscay. The city traces its origins to the Gallo-Roman period. It is now one of the largest yachting harbours along this coast. The entrance of the port has two large medieval towers that once protected its port.
La Rochelle, France.

Where was I ?
I was in La Rochelle, France ❤️

Beach or mountains? Which do you prefer? Why?

As a child I lived by the ocean (not as nice as a this one), on the South Coast of England. There wasn’t any mountains, so the beach was my playground.
My Grandmother would swim in the sea everyday, even in the winter! 🥶🥶. I didn’t join her….😂

This historic town is located on the Mediterranean coast, known as the Turquoise coast. It has a vast sweeping bay with the Taurus mountains as a backdrop.
The town is built into the hillside with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and sea. It has a beautiful harbour, which was formerly, a small coastal trading port.
Not to mention, the glorious roof top restaurants! 😋😋😋

A surrealistic geological formation of sand dunes.
These dunes consist of seven different coloured sand, (red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple & yellow) which settle in different layers.
These layers were formed by volcanic eruptions millions of years ago.
This spectacular waterfall is fed by three streams pouring into the river below. The waterfall is approx. 100 mtrs high.
Awww….they also have the amazing Aldabra tortoises in residence.

It holds the record for the ‘longest non-stop single track cable car”, at 5,801 mtrs in length. It is 1,487 mtrs from sea level.
I took the cable car journey back in 2014, a year after it opened. It was a wonderful experience, looking over the mountains, the trees and the waterfalls below.

Tell us about a time when you felt out of place.
After leaving school at 15yrs old with no real education or qualifications, I felt academically inept. I didn’t care at the time, all I wanted to do (and good at) was be an athlete; a sprinter.
On leaving school, being homeless for several months, my aspirations to be an athlete fell by the wayside. as did most things.
After finding my feet (no pun intended) at 19 yrs of age, I went to night school and studied Art and Psychology. I struggled, I had a lot to learn.
I gained a place in University to study Fine Art & Critical & Contextual Studies. I couldn’t believe it. I was terrified. I convinced myself they had made a mistake, they would soon find out, realise I shouldn’t be there.
On arrival, I felt so out of place. I felt like a fraud. I didn’t belong in academia, sit in lectures and take notes, write essays…F**K!
I kept a low profile, went to lectures, took copious notes, recorded every lecture, which I replayed numerous times; in case I missed anything.
I felt sure I wouldn’t last a month, if that. The months went by, and I was still there. After three years, I graduated with my degree and went straight into teaching Art & Art History.
I didn’t get to run in the Olympics, but I eventually got my education.
I really felt out of place in Uni, but so I’m so glad I persevered. 🤗🙏
Thank you for reading ✨
Happy Friday 😁
What’s your all-time favorite album?
My all-time favourite album has to be my photo albums. You know the ones 🤔, the book of pages with transparent plastic sleeves that you insert your beautifully captured prints. The images you await, in eager anticipation to be developed and printed.
An album filled with images of loved ones, places visited, those cherished moments and happenings. An album to review and relive those wonderful memories.
The photos themselves adorned with stains, smudges, fingerprints, lip prints etc. where they have been lovingly touched, caressed, kissed throughout their time in the album.
An album you can open, touch, smell, and revisit forever.
I think I’m showing my age here 🤣🤣
