The Beach! 🌊

Beach or mountains? Which do you prefer? Why?

As a child I lived by the ocean (not as nice as a this one), on the South Coast of England. There wasn’t any mountains, so the beach was my playground.

My Grandmother would swim in the sea everyday, even in the winter! 🥶🥶. I didn’t join her….😂

(8) Where am I? (June 2022)

This Island Country is situated In the Atlantic Ocean. It forms part of the Macaronesia ecoregion, off the West coast of Africa.

I’m in Sal, Cape Verde! 🤗

(7) Where am I?

This historic town is located on the Mediterranean coast, known as the Turquoise coast. It has a vast sweeping bay with the Taurus mountains as a backdrop.

The town is built into the hillside with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and sea. It has a beautiful harbour, which was formerly, a small coastal trading port.

Not to mention, the glorious roof top restaurants! 😋😋😋

I am in Kalkan, Turkey.

Who is the most famous or infamous person you have ever met?

I was present and witnessed…

Pope Benedict XVI last public Mass, held in St Peter’s Basilica, Vatican, Vatican City, Rome… on Ash Wednesday 13th February 2013.

Obviously, I didn’t get to have a chat or anything. But, it was an amazing experience. Just to be present in such an important and memorable occasion.

It is an archipelago off the Northwest coast of Africa. Situated in the North Atlantic Ocean.

The region is well known for its wine!

This city is one of the oldest cities in the world. It is nicknamed the “City of the Seven Hills”

J.K Rowling moved here in 1991 and it was here that she wrote the first three chapters of the book ‘Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone’.

I’m in Lisbon, Portugal.

(2) Where am I?

It holds the record for the ‘longest non-stop single track cable car”, at 5,801 mtrs in length. It is 1,487 mtrs from sea level.

I took the cable car journey back in 2014, a year after it opened. It was a wonderful experience, looking over the mountains, the trees and the waterfalls below.

I am in ‘Ba na hills‘ in the Truong Son Mountains, Da Nang, Vietnam.

(1) Where am I ?

A 10th Century village I visited in 2019. It has a cathedral and churches, one of which, was first built in the 9th Century. Caves carved into the rock where monks lived. Little alleys, cobbled streets, amazing doors, and the home of the philosopher Tommaso Campanella.

This beautiful town inspired me to paint it.
