A Visual Narrative Through Art: Autobiographical & Conceptual Fine Art
What traditions have you not kept that your parents had?
‘EVERYTHING’!!!
How would you describe yourself to someone?
Oooh…now this is a difficult one to answer.
Growing up with an incestuous father and a narcissistic mother my childhood was complicated and confusing. I didn’t really develop an identity, I was always in survival mode. I am now in the process of trying to write my memoir (if that’s what it is) ‘In search of Sara’ .
What I can say is, I’m a survivor, brave, resilient, an empath and very complicated!
Hopefully, with time, I’ll be able to describe myself.
If you won two free plane tickets, where would you go?
Having had a difficult few years; a long and stressful divorce, two major spinal surgeries, moving house for the 48th time! I would love to go to Bora Bora. Relax and swim in the beautiful turquoise sea, listen to the oceans ebb and flow and drink the odd cocktail or two, maybe three.
What’s the story behind your nickname?
I haven’t got a nickname. Not as far as I know anyway 🥹
What do you listen to while you work?
I prefer silence when I work. If I am working on a painting silence is preferable.
What’s your go-to comfort food?
My go-to comfort food would have to be a hearty roast beef dinner. Lots of crispy roast potatoes, a selection of fresh vegetables , Yorkshire pudding and lashings of rich tasty gravy poured over the top.
Roast dinners always take me back to visiting my grandmother (as a child) once a month on a Sunday. She would cook the most wonderful roast dinners for all her grandchildren. 💞
What’s your favorite game (card, board, video, etc.)? Why?
Oooh… I think it has to be Blackjack. It’s fast and exciting 🤗
Which activities make you lose track of time?
There are numerous activities that makes me lose track of time 🤔…
Painting, writing, reading, gardening, cooking, research, diy, to name a few. 🤗
Are you seeking security or adventure?
I’ve never had security in my life so don’t know what that feels like. I’m not sure if real security exists 🤔. So adventure is what I seek.
What do you think gets better with age?
Many things… but the ability to say NO! (when necessary) becomes easier. Setting boundaries, living your life, letting go of your own boundaries to move forwards.
