New Painting: progress

Another painting (in progress) based on my second visit to Calabria Italy in November 2019.

My previous painting included sites and architecture in Reggio, Locri, Antonimina, Gerace and Roccella.

This painting includes my visits to Riace, Stilo, Canolo, Grotteria and again… beautiful Locri.

So much to explore in the Calabrian region of Italy…. the food, wine, culture, architecture, landscape, street art, and of course, the wonderful people.

I still have a lot more to include… I will keep you posted on progress 🎨

Calabria painting progress…

Been away for a week but I have been working on this painting as much as possible…. hope to finish it within two weeks. I still have a lot of detail add.

Calabria

A wonderful ten days spent in the Calabria region of Italy!

Staying in Locri, with a delightful host and great friend. We visited the Cathedral Treasury in Gerace with its collection of fine works of art. The National Archaeological Museum of Reggio where the Greek Riace Bronzes are housed. We ate the most delicious food, had the odd tipple (or two) of locally made wine, and met some amazing people.

This trip has so inspired me for my next pieces of art work. A place to which I will return…. For now… Ciao-Ciao
