‘Featprints’

Featprints

Describe one positive change you have made in your life.

The most significant and positive change I made in my life…

Having more courage in expressing myself more honestly and openly through my artwork.

‘Featprints’ (2025) Acrylic and acrylic inks on canvas (30” x 20”)

©️‘Featprints’ 2025 Sara Allwright/All rights reserved

This painting is the most figurative of my recent works. It is fuelled by my being more open and explicit about my past and its legacy. I still wish to leave the viewer with ‘room’ for alternate interpretations.

  1. Just came back to say that I was looking at your painting on a small screen when I left what I realize now was a comment that was too light-hearted for the piece. Moved to a larger screen, saw more — what an extraordinarily visceral work of art. Humbling. ❤️

    1. Thank you Robin, it was a difficult painting for me to post. I’m so pleased you could view the picture on a larger screen and can see and feel it in more perspective.
Thank you again for your comment. 😊❤️🌻

  2. You have there in this work so much different things that certainly there is room for alternative interpretations. I am pretty sure that everyone finds there something for himself which awakens many things. A strong work 😊

    1. I felt the need to express myself, have a voice, my experiences etc. but I also wanted the viewer to make or have their own interpretations.
Thank you Jean for your thoughtful comments, I appreciate it. 😊🌻

    1. That’s ok, I too haven’t been on WP much these days (trying to balance between posting and life). I hope you get your account sorted ASAP!
Thank you for your lovely words regarding my artwork. 🥰😁🌻

    1. Well, yes … I painted the composition on canvas. Thank you for your kind comment. I always feel the observer has and brings their own interpretation to a piece of artwork.
Thank you, and all the best to you. 🌻😁

  3. Sara, little girl says ‘hi’.

The title speaks volumes. This is painful yet captivating. There are too many emotions to go through Sara. Your story is powerful, inspiring and shows that there is always hope and light. Chains can be broken. You personify resilence my friend 🧡.
PS: My daughter saw a girl in captivity and she was aghast.

    1. I was very apprehensive to post this one, but I’m glad I did. There are a number of symbols within the work, to represent certain things – I didn’t want to make it too obvious. It’s good to allow the viewer to have their own interpretations and viewpoints. Indeed, the chains can and has been broken. Onwards and upwards my friend.
Thank you Iba 💕. Say hi to your daughter (I hope the picture didn’t trouble her).
      How is your weekend going?

      1. I’m so glad you put this up. You’re giving a voice to the voiceless and those who still can’t find the courage to speak up and there are plenty. Onwards and upwards and the only way is forward.

She is fine. It gave me a chance to talk to her about some realities that many children undergo. A few doses once in a while is good for her.

The weekend was okay. Lazed around 😀

      2. She has eased up with me, thankfully and drawing almost daily. The school has a drawing camp running for two weeks so she attends that too. The art teacher has complimented her art 😊.

  4. Sara, this is one of those paintings that, if in a gallery, you’d need to sit down for 10-15 min and just study.

There are so many interesting facets, details, that it launches myriad questions. Honestly, I blew it up and spent at least 10 min examining it. Beautiful.

Just curious… is there a part of it related to your friend who tragically passed… the one you went on a cruise with?

Great post, my friend… you should be proud 😎👏

    1. Aww…thank you Darryl. It was a difficult painting for me to post. Your words have make me feel it was the right decision to share it.
No, my dear friend is not part of the work – the painting refers only to my childhood experiences (family) and myself, present day.
Thank you again, for your wonderful words. They encourage and motivate me to continue to express my healing journey through my artwork. 😊❤️🌻

  5. This is beautiful art painting, dear Sara. I read this powerful picture as a big step that addresses the whole world, opening a brand new page and trying to present a more positive world. I also agree his words too, Daniel (Silver Swan),.. Thank you, The muse, The Sun, The Beauties always be with you. Love, nia

  6. Sara, this is both courageous and deeply inspiring. 🌿

The title ‘Featprints’ itself carries such poetic weight—echoes of the past, perhaps, but also the triumph of walking forward. There’s something immensely powerful about choosing vulnerability through art—turning personal history into shared humanity, while still honoring the viewer’s own imagination and space to feel.

Your openness here resonates: “being more open and explicit about my past and its legacy” feels like a soft roar—an inner strength surfacing gently but surely. And the fact that this painting is your most figurative work to date speaks volumes about your journey. You’ve chosen clarity not at the expense of depth, but in service of it.

Thank you for sharing your evolution, both on canvas and in spirit. I’d love to hear more about what inspired the name Featprints—it’s such a unique twist on a familiar word. 👏❤️🌹

    1. Thank you so much for your thoughtful and deeply encouraging words Krishna.
I was somewhat apprehensive on posting it today – but, it’s part of my healing journey and I hope it inspires others in their own journey.
I cannot take recognition for the name ‘Featprints’. On completion, I asked a very good friend of mine to name the painting. Knowing my motivation and seeing the finished piece he came up with the perfect title.
Thank you, again for your lovely words. I really appreciate it. 😊❤️🌸

  7. i think IMHO this is as good as any of your previous work but it stands on its own (with Spirits…). Bravery requires we must continue to build on our previous steps and this – not stats – is what is key about your first painting and then posting it. Great to read the previous comments too to see you and the work are appreciated. Xx

  8. I see you Sara, and feel your pain. You have encapsulated it perfectly in your art. There is plenty to interpret in your art. I’m pleased to see you in the sunny corner! No need to hide any longer. Each one of us has a past and a story to tell. And I’m looking to the future now😘

  10. Wow Sara, there’s a lot going on here! This is top notch art. I’m really impressed with the way the scenes blend into each other without mixing directly. Really expressive and emotive imagery/allegory. Keep up the great work, this is amazing!
