“Visual Artists”

Who are your favorite artists?

I have hundreds of favourite Artists, but here are a few:

Mark Rothko’s captivating, large scale, colour field paintings.

Rachel Whiteread’s sculptures/casts and installations.

Pablo Picasso & Georges Braque’s cubist paintings, inspired by Paul Cezanne and African and Iberian sculptures.

Gaudi’s modernist architecture.

Christo and Jean Claude’s site specific installations.

Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel ceiling, painted in fresco.

And of course, last but not least: MYSELF. 🤗

    1. Quite varied 🤔. I like conceptual art as well as aesthetics. Wow… I bet that was wonderful to see 🤗. I think Christo was an amazing artist, what he managed to achieve on such a large scale…particularly ‘Running Fence’

      1. As an art student I was more exposed to Theatre (I actually graduated from the Theatre Department) and my art courses were classical. I am not a fan of conceptual art as I see there is too little innovation and creativity. I can separate the good ones, just like in performance art. There are some good but the majority are rather ridiculous. I mean like the banana and the glass of water and the mountains of toilet paper… 😁 All the best Sara.

      2. Yes, I understand completely. In Uni my art (practical) lecturer was a traditional painter, our art history lecturers were more conceptual advocates. But there is a lot of 💩 out there 😂. All the best to you, Francisco 😄

      3. Hehehe… you are right Sara… but now, when I see what they are teaching in art schools at Uni I wonder if an aspiring artist should even consider going. Better a private academy where they will teach you what you want to learn and not all the “rest”. Good evening to you Sara.
